Home School Association (H.S.A.)
After School Enrichment Coordinator
Works with administration to choose appropriate programs, create schedules, facilitate space issues with regard to after school religious instruction; administers programs including pricing, payments, student listing and oversees on-site programs.
Contracts type of Book Fair and Book Fair dates with Scholastic; schedules restock and delivery of merchandise; liaises with administration and maintenance concerning location and physical set up of book fair; reconciles sales receipts; prepares financial report; provides publicity and volunteer communication including communication to parents, teachers, priests and deacons.
Box Tops for Education
Publicizes Box Top deadline dates; collects both parish and academy box tops; provides incentive programs with approval of administration i.e. pizza party for class winner; bundles and tallies box tops and sends to Box Tops for Education by October 31 and February 28.
Catholic Schools Week
Works with administration to plan week’s events and provide volunteers; provides breakfast and/or lunch to faculty as directed by administration.
Works with teacher to plan class parties, trips as per teacher’s input and requests; provides prepared food for multicultural day as per teacher’s requests; attends class parent orientation in the fall; prepares a class tea/coffee for your parents to go over class procedures re: birthdays, etc.: works with class to prepare class basket for Wish Upon a Star.
Responsible for working with the vendor; planning and booking Ryan Hall; choosing items for children, parents and parishioners to purchase gifts for family and friends at the boutique; secures volunteers to work at boutique.
Family to Family / Hospitality
Responsible for “matching” current families with incoming families to provide a resource for and welcome to new families; prepares letters to facilitate the match; follows up with phone calls to ensure current families have been dutiful; organizes, a reception for new families in the spring or fall; organizes volunteers for school year open houses and provides light refreshments.
Fall Social Coordinator
Plans and executes a parent social/fundraising event to reconnect existing academy families and welcome new Academy families; event specifics to be determined by the chair and approved by the principal and board.
Good and Welfare
Provides outreach and support to families experiencing major life event i.e. birth, sickness, death; check regularly with academy secretary.
Identifies and recruits individuals willing to run for the executive board and works with the Principal and the current H.S.A. Board members to recruit volunteers for the standing committees.
SCRIP Grocery Certificates Coordinator
Responsible for coordinating and selling SCRIP; purchasing SCRIP from supermarkets; tracking each family’s purchases, and corresponding with families regarding SCRIP balances.
Social Outreach Coordinator
Works with charitable organization and academy families to collect Christmas gifts from academy families to be distributed to children in need.
Provides support to the Athletic Director in achieving goals of all sports programs and planning Sports Awards Dinner. Coaches are required to undergo a training program administered by the Archdiocese (Protecting God’s Children) and report to the Athletic Director who liaises with the Principal and the H.S.A. Executive Board.
Maintains closet on a regular basis by cleaning and organizing donated uniforms.
Wish Upon a Star and Auction
Chooses and coordinates with venue; selects entertainment, organizes committee chair persons for Silent Auction, Ad Journal, Grand Raffle, Lucky Draw, Event Marketing; organizes committees for: invitations, reservations, basket/gift wrap.
