Update for the SRLA Community

In the Spirit of Christmas

This morning, the Social Outreach Committee and student helpers sent off beautifully-wrapped Christmas gifts generously donated by our SRLA community. We are so grateful for everyone's support in this annual Gift Giving Program. We had an amazing response this year! The gifts and donations will benefit the children of St. Rose of Lima Church in Newark and the seniors and families of St. Joseph’s Social Service Center in Elizabeth. Thank you, all and Merry Christmas!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Virtual Christmas Concert:

Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday

SRLA will host a pre-recorded presentation of our first-ever virtual Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 17, at 7:00 pm.

There will be a link posted so that anyone can view the concert at a later time.

We will be taping on Tuesday, 12/15. We ask that your child dress in festive holiday colors with lots of red, green, silver, gold, and white on this day!

Mr. Allen Jarvis will lead our kindergarten through eighth grades in holiday and religious selections for everyone at home.

We hope that the spirit of Christmas surrounds you as it has us listening to rehearsals.

Advent with Sr. Sandy

St. Rose of Lima's Super Sr. Sandy explores Advent and several significant Symbols with the students.

One such favorite was the comparison of the Jesse Tree and today's Ancestry.com.

SRLA is so lucky to have Sr. Sandy and Fr. Harahan show us how Advent not only has what we want but what our souls need, especially now as we prepare and wait for the celebration of Jesus' birth at Christmas. The term advent is from the Latin translation of "coming".

SRLA Mask Update

An update on the SRLA masks--our shipment is delayed due to a factory requiring to shut down temporarily because of COVID.

Friday, 12/18 is a Half Day

Please note that next Friday, Dec. 18 is a half day. Christmas break begins on 12/21!
