Principal's Update

Please note the latest COVID-19 isolation guidelines from the CDC.

No symptoms:

  • Day 0 is the day you are tested.
  • Day 1 is the first full day following the day that you are tested.
  • If you have no symptoms, isolate for five full days after the positive test result.
  • Return to school on the 6th day.

Example: Tested on January 2 may return to school January 8th.

Mild symptoms:

  • Day 0 is the first day of symptoms regardless of when you tested positive.
  • Day 1 is the first full day following the day the symptoms started.
  • You may return to school on the 6th day.

Quarantine:
  • If you received your vaccines and boosters recommended by the CDC, you do not need to quarantine, but it is recommended you get tested 5 days after the day of your last contact with someone positive with COVID. If you start to exhibit symptoms, you will need to quarantine.
  • If you have not received the vaccine and the booster (ages 12 and up), you must quarantine for 5 days and return to SRLA on the 6th day. Again, Day 0 starts the day you have close contact with COVID and Day 1 is the first full day following close contact.

Read the CDC's complete K-12 schools guidance.

Thank you,
Principal Underwood

Three Cheers for Nurse Linda!
It is so important that we take a moment to support and recognize our school nurse, Nurse Linda, for all that she does for our SRLA family.

Linda, you play such a vital role in our school lives each and every day!

Thank you!

Get Your PJs Ready!

All next week, we'll be celebrating SRLA, and thanking everyone who makes our Catholic school community so special!

Monday: Celebrating our Community
Students are asked to bring a new, clean, never-worn pair of socks to be donated to those less fortunate. And wear your favorite pajamas!

Tuesday: Celebrating our Own SRLA Students
To recognize our students and their amazing accomplishments, we honor you by exchanging one ice cream treat for one new, clean, never-worn, t-shirt! Dress in any “groovy" or "tie-dyed” attire you can pull together!

Wednesday: Celebrating our Nation
Please bring one toy or treat for a pet, and wear red, white, and blue (yes, jeans are blue). Eighth Graders should be dressed in their full winter uniform for their Pinning Ceremony!

Thursday: Celebrating Vocations
Please bring a $1.00 donation for the Monastery for the Dominican Sisters in Summit. Wear your favorite sports team’s gear or your favorite piece of SRLA Spirit wear!

Friday: School-wide Virtual Multicultural Program
Classes will present a very special song/story about a saint their class has selected from around the world. Wear red in support of the American Heart Association.
Hot Cocoa, Anyone?

The Student Council will be selling hot cocoa bags Monday through Wednesday next week.

They are $2.00 a bag. Bags will include a cup, hot cocoa of course, a sweet treat, marshmallows, and possibly a Dress Down ticket! These bags will be given out on Friday.

Thank you for supporting SRLA Student Council.

Help Celebrate Our Eighth Graders
SRLA has a wonderful tradition of celebrating our graduating students throughout their final year at the Academy!

The Pinning Ceremony marks the half-way point. The pin is given to our students as a remembrance of their time at SRLA. The pins will be blessed during a special ceremony at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 2 in Church, followed by a brunch for the 8th grade students only. We ask that you support our 8th grade by contributing to their celebratory brunch!

Items can be dropped off with Danny on the morning of February 2nd. Please note all items must be nut free.

As always, thank you for your continued support of our students!
