Dear Families,

The 2024 Book Fair at St. Rose of Lima Academy is happening soon! The Book Fair keeps our children reading and raises funds for our school. We’re very excited to be able to host this event again this year! To make our book fair a huge success, we need the help of all of our parents AND all of our children.

This year the book fair will be held in the GYM during Catholic Schools Week! The gym offers lots of great browsing for all age groups. The children will visit the book fair early in the week with their classes, accompanied by their teacher, to prepare their WISH LISTS. Wish Lists will then be sent home in your child's folder. Check off the books you'd like them to purchase from their wish list and send back to school with a check (made payable to St. Rose of Lima HSA), cash or ewallet funds. (see below for more info on ewallet and setting up your child's account.)

The preferred way for your child to buy books is through Scholastic’s eWALLET. With eWallet, a convenient digital payment account, your child can shop the fair cash-free. And now family, friends, and others can contribute to the eWallet! Set up your account today, so your children are ready! We’d love to encourage you to use this feature, but the Book Fair will of course also be accepting cash/checks made out to St Rose of Lima HSA/credit card payment. Book Fair volunteers will fulfill these orders and books will be sent to your child’s classroom.

This year the teachers will also have an opportunity to create eWallets. With eWallet you can designate a dollar amount for your child’s classroom and the teachers will be able to pick out books for the classroom, completely tax free.

Book Fair Hours: The Book Fair will be open on Sunday for parents who would like to shop with their children on Sunday January 28, 2024 from 10:30 - 1:30 PM . The children will shop with their classes from January 29th - February 1st.

Volunteer: Here is the sign up genius for volunteering slots. Please sign up to help. Please take note of the time slots your child’s class will be visiting the book fair if you’d like to specifically help with their class. There are also setup and cleanup hours available. Please remember: All volunteers must have an active certification from the "Protecting God's Children" course.

Twas the night before Christmas Eve... Saturday December 23rd

This year we refer to it as the EVE before Christmas Eve!

Due to this very rare occasion of the 4th Sunday of Advent coinciding with Christmas Eve, CLOW is celebrating the lighting of the fourth candle on Saturday during the 5:30pm Mass.

This will be no ordinary CLOW... it cannot be - this is an extraordinary situation, which calls for a spectacular event...

The EVE before Christmas Eve, also known as Children’s Liturgy Christmas PJ Party!

The children will participate in Children’s Liturgy of the Word and return prior to the end of Mass - just like Bambinelli Sunday. After Mass the Hospitality Cart will be out with cookies and hot chocolate for all. Bring your extended family to celebrate the 4th Sunday of Advent.

On Christmas Eve, the 4pm and 6pm Masses will have the Nativity Animals present.

On Christmas Day, the 9:30am and 11:30am Masses will have the Nativity Animals present.

* Amazing photos of the kids with the animals. This is a loved event at St Rose!

Don’t miss out on this busy, fun filled Christmas weekend. The children have Prepared the Way for Jesus to come, let’s finish strong! Plus who doesn’t love PJ parties with cookies and hot chocolate followed by a petting zoo on Christmas - no one!

PS - Bambinelli Sunday, WOW that was beyond spectacular! The costumes were amazing. The creativity, time and effort - you knocked our socks off! Please send photos and videos of the procession. Sister Sandy, Heidi and I are itching to see all the pictures of the beautiful children processing and singing.

Pick up your SRLA Keepsake Ornament at Wednesday's Christmas Concert!

Don't miss your chance to buy a beautiful SRLA ornament for your Christmas tree! These hand-blown glass ornaments are just $15 each, and proceeds will help fund beloved graduation traditions and festivities for our 8th Graders.

Members of the 8th Grade will be on hand at the back of the church both before and after the Christmas concert on Wednesday evening. Purchase online in advance and pick up your order that evening, or pay in cash at the church.

The 3" ornament features an original painting of the school by artist and SRLA grandparent Joseph Pieroni, and each one is individually boxed, making it a perfect gift!
