Contact Senators before Today's Vote!

In response to the leak of a draft opinion in the Supreme Court case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, the Senate has scheduled another vote to impose nationwide abortion on demand through the so-called Women’s Health Protection Act, S. 4132.

Your senators need to hear from you NOW.

Among other extreme actions, this most radical abortion bill ever seen would:

• Impose abortion on demand nationwide throughout every stage of pregnancy

• Eliminate existing pro-life laws nationally AND in every state and local government

• Force Americans to financially support abortions in the U.S. & abroad

• Likely force health care providers to participate in abortions against their beliefs

• Likely force employers and insurers to cover or pay for abortion

Please contact your Senators today to let them know this horrible bill must never become law.

Take Action

The Annual Grand Raffle is one of SRLA's biggest fundraisers and we need your help! We are looking for volunteers to sell Grand Raffle tickets at St. Rose of Lima Masses during the two weekends leading up to Wish Upon a Star, May 21, 2022, which is when we will draw the winners. We are also looking for SRLA student readers to speak at the end of each Mass to help promote ticket sales.

Here's what we need:

First, we need volunteers at our Masses THIS upcoming weekend. This is an easy 20-25 minute job - we are asking for 1-2 parent/family volunteers at each Mass to sell our Grand Raffle tickets outside of church. Masses are: Saturday 5/7: 5:30pm and Sunday 5/8: 9:30am and 11:30am.

We also need 2 students to speak at each Mass on the weekends of May 7-8 and May 14-15. Don't worry, a script will be provided and it's a great chance to practice public speaking among your own community! Student speakers are asked to wear their school uniforms to church.

May 2, 2022

Dear Parents:

We hope you plan on joining us on Saturday, May 21st for our BIGGEST school fundraiser, Wish Upon a Star! The annual Grand Raffle is an exciting part of WISH, and one of our most important (and easiest!) fundraisers. Your child has brought home two booklets of Grand Raffle tickets today. We strongly encourage you to sell tickets to your family, friends, neighbors and coworkers and don’t forget to purchase a few for yourself.

Each ticket will be entered for a chance to win one of three Visa gift cards: Grand Prize $1,500, 2nd Prize $1,000 and 3rd Prize $500. We are striving for 100% participation from our school families and encourage you to sell both ticket booklets. Please return all ticket stubs to school by Wednesday, May 18th.

Ticket holders need not be present to win! You can purchase tickets by credit card through our Blackbaud (new SMART) purchase tickets or write a check to “SRLA HSA”. Each ticket is $10, and you must send in your stubs with the name and contact information of the purchaser to be entered into the raffle. Stubs and checks should be returned to the school office in the envelope provided or marked “Attention: Grand Raffle.”

The winning ticket will be drawn at Wish Upon a Star on Saturday, May 21st. If the winner is not present, they will be contacted to pick up their prize at a later date. Questions? Please feel free to contact us at the below email addresses.

Good luck in the Grand Raffle!

Most sincerely,

SRLA Grand Raffle Chairs

A HUGE Walk-a-Thon THANK YOU to all our incredible SRLA students and parents who helped make the 2022 Walk-a-Thon such a success!!

Your amazing children moved and grooved to the DJ while raising a record-breaking $25,000 (and counting) for their school!!! These funds will go a long way toward reaching our fundraising goal for the year. We cannot thank our SRLA families enough!

We would like to give a big, warm thank you to the following:

·     Mrs. Underwood and Danny for all their support planning the big day.

·     Johnny for helping set up everything we need, and to all our teachers for being so gracious with handing out the t-shirts and for walking with our students.

·     Mary Uzzolino for sharing her talents in creating our Walk-A-Thon shirt logo. The kids loved them!

·     Catherine Pieroni for keeping track of all the pledges

·     Marybeth Radics for all her amazing help communicating to our school community in the Raven Rundown.

·     Jennifer Coleman and Mario Lago for their balloon arch ingenuity.

Last but not least, to our stellar Walk-A-Thon volunteers: Co-chairs Michael Paton, Evangeline Martinez and Jen Mercado. THANK YOU for working so hard to make Walk-A-Thon so fun and successful for our kids. We couldn't reach our goals without the help of generous parent volunteers like you.

Let's Go Ravens!

SRLA HSA

Wish Upon a Star is fast approaching and we NEED your help!

If you are interested in making a donation to Silent Auction, but are unsure how to do this, we have created an AMAZON WISHLIST to make things super easy!

Many of our families have asked, "What are the most popular items at Silent Auction?" We have added many of these to the wish list: iPads, portable speakers, Apple watches and the ever popular Vitamix, to name but a few, and all are on offer.

You can either choose something off the list yourself, or grab one or two friends to make an even bigger donation!

We are also giving you the option of building a basket!! Here are a few suggestions and these are super fun to bundle with friends!

·     Do you love to grill? The Pit Boss grill along with stylish Cuisinart grilling tools, and of course the quintessential Bobby Flay CookBook will make an extremely sumptuous basket!

·     Perhaps you are a bookworm! Everyone loves the new Kindle paperwhite for reading in the sun! Let's add in the book light for night time reading, the super cool wireless charging dock and a sleek cover for your new kindle—another phenomenal basket!

·     Or do you have a green thumb?! Would you like to share the love?! The planter box, seeds, gardening tools, and very sleek watering can will entice everyone to try their hand at growing their own herbs!

·     Finally an oldie but a goodieAmerican Girl Doll! Many of us have memories of collecting these dolls and the tradition holds strong to this day! Add in your own American Girl Doll accessories to fill out what is always an extremely popular basket!

Of course, if you have something outside our wishlist to donate, we are always so appreciative! We are especially interested in theater and sports tickets, and even unique service offerings, for example, interior design or inheritance and will preparation. All ideas are very welcome.

If you are interested in donating, please reach out to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We are excited to hear from you!

Dear Parents,

Excitement is building for Friday's Walk-a-Thon!

The students are excited to walk and are very proud of their fundraising efforts! For those keeping track, 2nd grade has taken the fundraising lead, followed closely by 5th and 6th grades! And yes, there is still time to donate at https://pledgestar.com/roseoflima/

Details for Friday:

·     The front half of the parking lot will be closed at 7 AM to allow for set-up. Morning drop-off will occur in the back half of the lot.

·     Students are to wear their gym uniforms to school.

·     Students will be given their Walk-a-Thon t-shirts (created by our incredibly talented Mary Uzzolino) during homeroom.

·     Water will be provided, and Nurse Lin will be on hand to attend to any scrapes, if needed.

·     The schedule is 10-10:45 AM (Pre-K-4th grades), 11-11:45 AM (Middle School)

Friday's weather forecast continues to show blue skies. We are truly blessed! Let's go Ravens!!

 ‘The Upstanders’

Building Resilience and Empathy to stand against Cyber-bullying

Followed by a presentation and Q&A

           by Millburn Township

        Detective Socrates Barbosa

Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 7:00 PM

at St. Rose of Lima Church

The Upstanders examines cyber-bullying from the perspectives of the bully, the victim and the onlooker, providing practical tips and resources to change the narrative – to stand up, speak out and support – and become an Upstander, not a Bystander

Film is rated for ages 10 and above

Hope to see you there!

“I found David’s story to be very sad. It was really hard to hear the story. But if we turn away because it is hard to hear, then aren’t we just continuing to be bystanders. As hard as these stories are to hear, we need to stand up listen, and speak out.”

Dear SRLA Families,

We are in the final push for our Walk-a-Thon fundraiser! The weather forecast for Friday is gorgeous and the students can't wait to get their steps in!

5th grade is still in the lead with 2nd grade nipping at their heals! Remember, our goal is $100 per student. There's still plenty of time to donate.

It's easy to get friends and family involved via the user-friendly instructions on PledgeStar. We can do it!!

Please also consider signing up for water donations to keep the kids hydrated as they walk!
