Our students had an amazing opportunity to enjoy a dynamic Dance and Percussion presentation by Yahaya Kamate and Troupe during Wednesday’s assembly. The performance was engaging, energetic, and a wonderful cultural experience for everyone in attendance.

Artist Bio:

Yahaya Kamate (BAE Teaching Artist / Dancer)

Yahaya Kamate is a native of the Ivory Coast. As a former member of the National Ballet of the Ivory Coast, he first came to the United States to honor his country by touring with the ballet in 1994. In 1997, he established himself in the Sunshine State. Kamate performed at Busch Gardens, the Animal Kingdom, and Epcot Center for two years before coming back to New York and the tri-state area where he teaches in both public and private schools. He practices African Dance, Drumming, Modern Dance, and Ballet. Currently, he is an instructor at Alvin Ailey, a performer and dance teacher at Friends Academy, and a Teaching Artist with Bronx Arts Ensemble.

Maybe, just maybe you'll want to come see our little girls (and little boys too)! Don't wait, don't knock it! Or life will be hard!

Please come join us as St. Rose of Lima presents A Very Annie Showcase directed by TJ Balady and choreographed by Silinea Hilliard.

So, come on down the (easy) street, fully dressed, with a smile 😁, of course!

Performance details to come, not tomorrow 😩, but soon!

Our Eighth Graders were able to participate in an activity that helped them and our SRLA community begin to prepare them for the beginning of the 2026 Lenten Season.

Along with Sister Sandy, Principal Underwood, and Mrs. Muller, they said prayers of blessing over the Palm leaves from last year before and during the burning of the palm that creates the ashes which were distributed at Mass on Ash Wednesday.

What a wonderful experience of learning, prayer, and spiritual growth as we prepare for Christ’s ultimate sacrifice for us and Resurrection.

IT’S ALMOST THAT TIME!

We are looking for volunteers for the HSA Board and the Advisory Board for the 2026/2027 school year!

VOLUNTEERS STILL NEEDED!

We are still in need of volunteers for 2026! Please remember that each family is required to volunteer at least once a year. Check out our sign up genius for volunteer opportunities!
