Lace Up for Track & Field
We invite you to join the St. Rose of Lima Track & Field Team this Spring!
Registration Deadline March 27.
Workouts consist of group runs, stretching, strength exercises, wind sprints, and field event practice. Practices are held at Meisel Avenue Park, Springfield:
- Tuesdays, 5:25pm – 6:45pm: 3rd to 8th grade ONLY
- Wednesdays, 5:25pm – 6:45pm: K-8th grade
Please note: Parents or caregivers of children in K-2nd grade who are participating must remain at practice and keep an eye on their children at all times.
What the kids need:
- "Real" running shoes! (Runners can wear spikes on certain tracks so we will send out information to make sure you get the proper running shoe.)
- To arrive on time at practice with a light jacket or sweatshirt over a t-shirt.
- Water bottles are a must!
PROGRAM FEE:
- $90 per student to cover meet fees.
- Track shirts cost $20. If your runner already has a track shirt please feel free to use it.
*Meet dates to be announced.
MEET EVENTS INCLUDE (athletes will be restricted to 3 total events per meet):
- 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1600m
- Relays: 4x100, 4x200, Sprint medley relay (SMR)
- Shot Put, Javelin, Long Jump
- K-2 Events (depending on the meet):
- Fun Run
- Softball Throw
- Mini-javelin
We will be using the Doodlio to inform team members of changed or canceled practices and/or meets. We will only be posting upcoming meets and results on the website.
Registration is a 2 step process. You must complete both steps to be put on the roster:
