4/14 Raven Rundown

April 14, 2022

Happy Easter!

On Wednesday of this Holy Week, the Sixth Grade class recreated Christ’s Passion. As one student read each Station of the Cross, Grades 4th through 8th watched as all fourteen stations came alive on the church’s altar area. We were led in prayer and song by Sister Sandy throughout this beautiful service, as she reminded us what an important time in the church this is as we renew our baptismal vows and say “I do“ to our belief and faith in God and Jesus. Like the song we sang after each station, Were you there when they crucified my Lord ?, we are reminded that we were there and present as we strive to live His way each day. Happy and Blessed Holy Week!

Summer Uniforms

Upon returning from Spring Break on Monday, April 25, students should come to school in summer uniforms.

Teacher Update

We are happy to report that Mrs. Donna Perkins (mom of PreK-4 teacher Allyson Perkins) has agreed to teach 2nd Grade for four weeks commencing on April 25 and continuing through May 26, while Mrs. Carangelo recuperates from surgery.
Mrs. Perkins earned her Master’s in Education at St. Elizabeth University in Convent Station in 2010. Upon receiving her teaching certificate, she began teaching at the 2nd grade level in Chatham Township. In addition, Mrs. Perkins has served as a long-term substitute at South Mountain in the South Orange-Maplewood school district, and in the Millburn school district as a long-term substitute for one and a half years.

Welcome Mrs. Perkins, and speedy recovery, Mrs. Carangelo!

The Upstanders examines cyber-bullying from the perspectives of the bully, the victim and the onlooker, providing practical tips and resources to change the narrative—to stand up, speak out and support—and become an Upstander, not a Bystander.

The screening is followed by a presentation and Q&A by Millburn Township Detective Socrates Barbosa.

Parents and children ages 10+ are welcome to attend. The film is rated for children 10+ only.

Hope to see you there!
