First Grade Writes the Book

First Grade hosted its first Writers' Workshop and it was a huge success! The “How To “ books were presented by the authors to their parents. These books included a title page, a brief bio, and sequencing words (first, next, after that, and finally). We learned a lot about writing and of course, how to do many different things! Refreshments were served and a wonderful time was had by all!

Thanks to everyone who participated…but most of all thanks to our hard-working First Graders!

In the Hall—On the Wall

Yes—Art is happening here at SRLA!

All grades K through 8 have been using elements of art including: Color – Line –Shape – Pattern and Texture.

The Art on the Wall in the hall includes a sampling of projects completed from September to April of this year.

Presently students are learning about Mondrian (1st grade), Matisse (2nd grade), and combining patterns and humor (7th grade “Crazy Hair Day “).

Hope you will enjoy the work for the remainder of the year!

Ravens Hit the Track

The Ravens hit the ground running—literally—at the first track and field meet of the season Saturday at Lincoln Park in Jersey City. SRLA's runners, jumpers, and throwers walked away with 24 medals!

It was a great start to the season!
