 I hope you have all had an enjoyable summer filled with family fun and enjoyment. I would like to welcome you to St. Rose Academy Sports for the 2022-2023 School Year. I have provided an outline of our offerings below for you to review and consider and help you plan for the school year.

Welcome Parents and Students to the 2022-2023 school year!

The St. Rose of Lima Academy faculty and staff are so very excited to welcome our new and returning students on Wednesday, September 7^th. The first three days will be 12:10 dismissal for Kindergarten through Eighth grade.

 

Dear Faith Formation Families, We Need Your Help! St Rose of Lima’s Confirmation candidates will be giving out Foodies for Families cards at this weekend’s Masses to help address the food insecurities in Newark.  We ask that you please pick up a card after any of this weekend’s Masses and purchase the food items listed on the card and return them to Mass on August 21st.   Your help and generosity will be so appreciated by so many families in need. Our goal is to collect 200 bags of food for distribution to the food pantry in Newark.  See flyer for more details. We are excited to say we are seriously considering adding Competitive Girls Volleyball as a sport during the 2022 -2023 School year during the Fall 2022 season.

The CYO currently has a Fall league for Girls in Grades 6-8. We are conducting this survey to see how much interest we have and hopefully we will be able to have at least 1 team if not 2.

Dear Parent/Guardian,

 

We will be sending home a MAP Growth Student Progress Report. This report provides a summary of your child’s performance on the most recent MAP Growth tests your child has taken.

Your child’s MAP Growth results are reported as RIT scores. The RIT score is the overall score for a subject based on a Rasch Unit (RIT). The RIT scale is much like feet and inches on a yardstick, in that it is used to measure growth over a period of time to help educators monitor student progress and academic growth from year to year. 

The RIT score reflects the instructional level at which the student is currently performing, helping teachers plan instruction at an appropriate level. You will also see a Percentile Range in the results table on the right-hand side of the Student Progress Report. The number in the middle of the range is your child’s percentile rank, or the percentage of students in the MAP Growth national norm group that had a RIT score less than or equal to your child’s score.   

You will see a description of your child’s performance level in specific goal areas within each subject test in the Goal Performance section on the left-hand side of the report, beneath the subject bar graphs. The goal performance level indicates how your child’s performance in each goal area compares to the average performance of his or her grade peers nationally.
